Martin’s Tisha Campbell & Husband in Debt For $15M — Report

Tisha Campbell has stayed on the sitcom circuit for over two decades, but that apparently wasn’t enough to keep the actress out of bankruptcy.

The Martin star and her All of Us actor husband Duane Martin are reportedly in $15 million of debt.

The comedy pair filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy after amassing their gargantuan debt, the Daily Mail reports.

NEWS: Mischa Barton’s Mom Files For Bankruptcy, Owes $6 Million

The 47-year-old TV mom and her 50-year-old partner’s big time obligations include $3 million in debt for a real estate loan and $9.5 million to the city of Los Angeles.

They are allegedly in the hole for almost $130,000 just for cars, including a 2016 Range Rover, 2016 Jeep Wrangler, and 2014 Range Rover.

Although Tisha currently stars on ABC’s Dr. Ken, her contract ends soon.

That may explain why the couple only has “$200 in cash on hand, $173 in a credit union” and a monthly income of $7,655.

With two sons — Xen, 15, and Ezekiel, 6 — hopefully things will start looking up for Tisha and Duane soon.

They dumb. Owing all that money and still driving new, expensive cars. They sound like my dad.

They not even all owned, they out here leasing. Martin comes on like 4 different channels now, no idea how she isn't seeing a piece of that.

The couple filed for bankruptcy on January 7th in US Bankruptcy Court in California.

Their assets include $65,000 in real estate, $248,000 in personal property, totaling $313,000 in assets. But they owe over $15,145,387 in liabilities to creditors
Their joint monthly income is $7,655, but their monthly expenses come out to $16,953. Currently they only have $200 in cash on hand $173 in a credit union.

The couple own a 2014 Range Rover, 1999 Kawasaki Drifter, 2004 Yamaha Scooter, 2016 Range Rover and 2016 Jeep Wrangler. Other assets include $15,000 in household goods, $2,500 in electronics, $2,500 in sports and hobby equipment, $1,000 in clothing and $2,500 in jewelry.

The documents list the value of their two dogs as $2.

Tisha and Duane also list several companies they run, including a production company where Tisha is paid for her work on the ABC show Dr. Ken Show.’ She explains her contract is up in early 2016 and she isn’t sure they will ask her back.

The court documents reveal they owe $208,611 in tax debt and $113,000 in student loans.

The couple’s liabilities include $3 million to Broadway Federal Bank for a personal guaranty for a real estate loan they took out, $9.5 million to the City of Los Angeles for a personal guaranty, $82,000 in back state taxes for 2005 & 2011, $86,000 to New York State Department of Taxation and $30,000 to the State Board of Equalization.

They also owe $43,000 on the 42 month lease for the 2016 Range Rover, $17,000 on the 2016 Jeep Wrangler, $67,000 on their 2014 Range Rover, $39,000 to American Express, $455,000 to City National Bank, $538,000 to Comerica Bank for a judgement against them and $120,000 to a law firm.

In addition, their debts include $17,000 to Sallie Mae for a student loan they took out for their nephew, $2,500 to United Valet related to Xen Restaurant in Los Angeles, $500,000 to their company XE Visions for loans given along with $400,000 to a company named Money Real Estate.

The bankruptcy is still pending in Federal Court.

THERE’S MORE: Tisha Campbell-Martin & Duane Martin Slapped With Federal Lawsuit For Trying To Hide Funds In Bankruptcy Case
As the news of their chapter 7 bankruptcy continues to make headlines, Tisha Campbell-Martin and Duane Martin have also been slapped with a federal lawsuit for trying to hide $200,000 from Tisha’s work on ABC’s “Dr. Ken” from the bankruptcy trustee.

DAMN GINA: Tisha Campbell-Martin & Duane Martin File Chapter 7 Bankruptcy For $15M Debt

TheJasmineBRAND.com has the exclusive scoop:

On April 1st, the trustee of the bankruptcy headed to court and slapped Tisha & Duane with a federal lawsuit demanding damages and a permanent injunction — for allegedly diverting money they made away from trustee.

The trustee explains — Duane is a television actor and movie star a Tisha is a television actress and singer.

According to the bankruptcy petition, they own 100% interest in a production company named XE Visions. The company produces music, music videos and ‘behind-the-scenes’ videos based on Tisha’s performances and XE Visions contracts with studios regarding her performances and receives payments for the shows.

A contract was entered into between XE and Woodridge Productions – a affiliate of Sony – who produce the ABC show ‘Dr. Ken’, for which Tisha is paid $45k per episode.

2 days after the couple filed for Chapter 7, the trustee says Tisha created another company named Won Hundred as a vehicle for rendering her acting services, despite her already running XE Visions that does exactly the same thing.

He accuses the couple of creating the new company for the sole purpose of diverting post-petition payments she was receiving for her work on the ABC sitcom. The trustee claims Tisha was paid $47,500 gross and $39,500 after she paid her agency. Further, he says that Woodridge issues 4-5 more payments to Tisha totaling $185k that are being held by her talent agency for some reason.

The trustee accuses Tisha & Duane of refusing to hand over the money, since he says the payments should have been made to XE Visions NOT their new company Won Hundred, since the contract she has with Dr. Ken states she is to be paid via XE Visions.

He is demanding the judge grant a permanent injunction enjoining them from spending, using, transferring or otherwise dissipating the payments to Won Hundred and any other property or assets of XE until the case has been fully decided. He is also seeking damages for their actions.

Damn! They only making 91k annually combine come now you definitely middle class.

This be the same regular people playing keeping up with these Jones.

Looks like that Martin reunion might get her attention after all. How much does she make from syndication i wonder.

They dumb. Owing all that money and still driving new, expensive cars. They sound like my dad.

I'm saying tho!

I stopped reading at: 'They are allegedly in the hole for almost $130,000 just for cars, including a 2016 Range Rover, 2016 Jeep Wrangler, and 2014 Range Rover'

You know your financial situation is tight and you copped two 2016 whips? :smh:

See I thought the only people making real money off of syndication were the (exec) producers and show creators. So in the case of Martin, that would be Martin Lawrence and a few other behind the scenes people.

This just doesn't smell right to me. My Wife and Kids comes on all the time too and Tisha was one of the directors on that so I know she should still be getting a check. I gotta feeling they got some cash ducked off somewhere. Maybe not enough to be mentioned in the Panama Papers but still... They been working way too long to not have a few hundred racks put away

And valuing the dogs @ $2 was just PETTY
