And there was a surprise parade thrown for Joe LoCicero of Saco, Maine, whose 1990 Honda Accord finally ticked over at the lofty one-million-mile mark.
Joe drives 62,000 miles per year, when the average driver merely spins out 14,000 miles—a distance Joe covers in just three months. He first started keeping track of the car’s odometer at 300,000 miles, and has taken 661 photos of his odometer’s journey to the end of its lifespan. Joe’s secret to his car’s longevity? He religiously changed his oil every 5,000 miles, using different weights according to the seasons, and used genuine Honda filters and fluids every few years. The only things he has had to replace have been the fuel pump, cooling fans, and two radiators. And in that time, he’s only received one speeding ticket.

That is crazy. One million... And some people get scared at the 150k mark.

He won't have to think about that one
and Miss Maine Ashley Marble presented Joe with the comically oversized key to a brand-new 2012 Accord.

It's a Honda..

If it were a V8, no way he'd be anywhere close to that.

I was addressing your logical fallacy in the OP. Just because a car goes 1M miles doesn't mean that said car's country of origin is better. Because then I could post my links and say American>. It would make just as little sense.

Talking about the quality of cars from the two countries, you're looking too far into it.

I'm trying to get at 300k or more out of my Camry. Already got 125k on it and it's a 2007.

my first college car was a '90 accord with 150,000 miles in 2003.. passed onto my brother in 2006 with 190000.. he sold in eventually but that car still ran decent.. those cars are incredibly reliable..

Reminds me of Al Bundy putting a mil on the dodge and almost got a free viper. My dad has a volkswagen truck with over 800K. He says the secret to maintaining it so long is oil changes and tire rotations.
