Seems weird that they'd be laced like that if they're DS.

The patent leather on the 11's looks good.  The cut of the PL looks legit.  

The pebbled leather on the 12's looks good too.

Does he have more pictures?  Ask for pics of the bottoms of both shoes,  the tags inside the shoes tag on the box and the heels for the 11's... Post them up..
