Hey whats up NT, longtime reader, first time poster. I just wanted to share some pics of some Concord XI I attempted to restore. I bought them used a couplemonths ago, and they looked like they were already showing some signs of age...mainly the yellowing on the upper mesh and the soles. They still have a ton oflife left in them, so I figured a good cleaning would help out a lot:
Before:
After:
I used Barkeeper's Friend on the tongue and upper mesh, Black Magic Tire Wet to bring out a little more shine on the patent leather, and Armor All on therest of the shoe to remove any spots of dirt. I also tried to Seaglow the soles, but they're still looking pretty yellow. Anyone have any good before/afterpics of using Seaglow successfully? There's still a lot of creasing from wear, but I think I turned a near-beater into a very rockable shoe. What do youguys think? I'm especially glad I got most of the yellow on the upper mesh out...makes the shoe look much fresher. Big thanks to the Sneaker CareMaintenance post for the info about Barkeeper's Friend...if you have some XI's that are yellowing, you need to go out and get some of this stuff.
