Is there any team in pro sports much worse shape than this one?

Yes, Pittsburgh Pirates.

They know going in each season the past 2decades that they have no chance at winning.

At least the Knicks usually can hold out for hope for a playoff berth.

Who was that Knick player that makes the steal and attempts a 360 breakaway dunk? Was that Fred Jones?

Probably not for the amount of money theyre paying...the Pirates payroll is minimal at least thats why they suck. The Knicks suck and have one the the highestpayrolls.

you mean Quyntel (sp?) Woods? I think it was him...

Yep. Qyntel Woods, former #6 player for the Knicks. That was just an awful attempt.

If you are an NBA team, and you try and make Eddy Curry your franchise player and give up pretty much your whole future to aquire him, its pretty selfexplanatory

Yeah, this has been coming for a few years - they committed themselves to some stupid salaries a long time ago and have paid dearly for it.

It's worse now though - they are still paying for previous mistakes but keep making new ones. They'll probably just have to ride out the decade andthen start again with a clean slate.

got this from the thread on ranking isiah's moves

  1. Isiah suckin Dolan off daily to keep his job
  2. Trade for Eddy Curry: Isiah gave up some high draft picks that couldve had the Knicks back on the road to success instead of having a Center who is a fat piece of %%$* and a cancer to this team. Curry belongs coming off the bench and Isiah should be shot for sayin that EC is the franchise player.
  3. Trade for Steve Francis: Gave up expiring contract and young, talented Trevor Ariza. Luckily, they were able to find 2 players who are similar to Ariza (Balkmen and Chandler), but they didnt need Francis and now they dont need Zach. Zach has made the team worse and its just more money that has to be paid.
  4. Trade for Jamal Crawford: Its not so much the players he gave up, but the player he got. Crawford is another cancer like Curry. He also belongs coming off the bench because of his lack of effort on defense, turnovers, and low shooting percentages
  5. Drafting Frye over Bynum: Could of had a center who contributes on both ends of the floor and who will someday soon be an all-star

I'm starting to actually feel bad for the Knicks. I miss when they'd come to Boston and it was a game you wanted to go see.

At least last year when the Celtics sucked, almost all of the games were exciting and there was still pride there. These Knick players seem like they'vepacked it in, which sucks for a storied franchise.

The Knicks are only in bad shape because of Dolan and Thomas. They made the Finals less than a decade ago and actually have players/contracts that can betraded.

There's worse franchises, the Pirates, the Falcons, the Dolphins, the Royals. It's just a bigger deal than it seems because the NY media blows it outof proportion and NY fans are so use to contending.

This could be resolved if the franchise would just spend a lil money an stop being cheap!!! go get some players!!!

Yeah, the Pirates don't want to spend money in their anti-competitive league and just accept their meager attendance at a great ballpark. Knicks are another story.
