So I have an interview at Finish Line today and I was wondering what I should expect and wear? Should I dress casual?

yes at a job interview dress as casual as you can. so casual that you impress them.

i suggest fitteds, nba jeans, and a hoody with a jersey over it.

lol@working at FN

Good luck with the interview it may not be the best job but its something.

I don't know how, that's an ignorant outfit to wear to a job interview.

You gotta remember so of these cats are young, he probably thought he was doing it. He must have done something right since he got the job but that wont fly in the corporate world

In all seriousness what should I wear since I'm actually excited about this job compared to my previous ones.

people over dress for interviews look like idiots

just wear something casual, cardigan, peacoat, sneakers...it's FINISH LINE
not morgan stanley.

NEVER PREPARE for an interview, just be prepared to answer questions as
if you're talking to your mom or dad....

the point of an interiview is gauging human interaction and intuition

What are your 3 greatest strengths..
What are your 3 greatest weaknesses..
Tell me about a time....

I forgot the questions, I managed there for a couple years, just don't dress like a bum and have some confidence. If you make a good impression as a responsible and motivated individual, you should get a call back.

They really don't know. You obviously know nothing you're talking about. There is no such thing as OVER DRESSING for a job interview. Regardless of the job.,

i guess it depends on the manager cuz that wouldn't fly with everyone...

managers at finishline couldn't give two @!$@# about your sneaker knowledge...especially on J's and AF1 or max

you'll spend most of your time pushing running shoes and those damn buy one get one free socks

@ peacot being in there...i swear this site swears by peacoats sometimes

qft...no matter the job you always want to look  professional...never know what it could lead to

I've gone to a few retail job interviews where they had us in groups, and some people looked like slobs, if you were doing the interview, would you really want to hire these people?

Let me tell you that those people were quickly booted in the first cut

Half of your "points" in your interview is presentation.

I would suggest a simple dress shirt (you don't have to wear a tie), slacks, and some dress shoes or casual dress.

i'm almost 26 my friend,
i've been working since i was 14.
in this 12 year span i've had over 27 jobs
ranging from mcdonalds to an entertainment law firm
before making dj'ing and radio my final choice
also finanical advisor at an ivy league college i attended...i currently attend msu
for philosophy .

i was a manager at foot locker when i was 19, i seriously couldn't give this
kid a job because i laughed in face along with my co-workers for showing up in a 3 piece suit and shiny shoes.
laugh.gif

it broke his spirit and he couldn't maintain his composure during the interview without crying.

and... i was actually impressed with his resume. but he cracked under pressure and that's something
we look for in the hiring process.

so you sir, wear a 3-piece suit to an inteview at subway...and see if they call you back.

^bro we don't need a damn bio about your life.

point blank finish line is trash, be prepared to hate your life.

worked with them around 03-04 and i'm sure nothing has changed.

just because you're gonna work with a place that sells sneakers doesn't mean you go to an interview rockin sneakers.

Some cats that work in Finishline, Footlocker, etc are herbs. I go in there to buy sneakers and they see me rocking Js and buy a pair of Js and wanna have a sit down of the history of sneakers and release dates.  I know about all that and I dont wanna discuss it here with you, let me get my shoes and go

i tend forget some of you are still in 15-16 years old...and they teach that %$*%%$!! in high school about job interviews.
i guarantee you you'll NEVER see a guy walk into a mall job wearing wall street fashion and get the job

you guys tend to forget the manager is HUMAN and has a LIFE OUTSIDE OF WORK.
paula from 40-year old virgin is the average mall job manager...I put that on my life!
