I'm tired of seeing fakes on Ebay so I thought I'd post this to let fellow ebayers how to spot fakes. I got this pair just recently from sellermyutuc23. Looks like most of his auction are fakes..Anyways here are the things you should look for to differentiatebetween real and fake Kobe IV's. Fakes are pictured on the left in comparison pics.
1) Fakes tend to have the Kobe "signature" on both shoes. As you can see in the pic, the sig is backwardon the left shoe.
Authentic pairs only have it on the RIGHT shoe.
2) FAKE CARBON FIBER. The fakes have a PLASTIC instead of real carbon fiber.
3) STITCHING on ankle collar. You probably can't tell from a pic but the stitching on a fake pair does not"dip" into the shoe and create the texture that the real pair of Kobe's have.
4) INSIDE SHOE TAG: Ask a the seller for the pic of the inside shoe tag. Although the actual production number iscorrect, the tag looks very blurry. An authentic pair looks very clean and clear.
5) The BOX: Fake boxes are much smaller than the real box and have an odd font to the box tag.
6) TONGUE: Tongue of the fake pair looks authentic but is very stiff and "plastic" feeling.
7) Ankle Collar: Virtually no padding on fakes whereas authentic pair have springy "memory foam"
Feel: Fakes have no zoom air so they feel flat and flimsy.
Check out my info auction on ebay for more pics. Fakes are on the left. Hope this helps everyone!
