Hope Solo's fiancé Jerramy Stevens arrested for domestic assault night before wedding
The couple planned to get married on Tuesday, but instead found themselves in court. Stevens was released after a judge decided there wasn't enough evidence to prove he struck Solo at a drunken house party.
Former NFL tight end Jerramy Stevens was arrested after allegedly assaulting fiancé and Olympic soccer superstar Hope Solo, on the eve of the couple’s wedding day.
Stevens, 33, and Solo, 31, appeared at a municipal court in Kirkland, Wash. on Tuesday, the morning they were set to marry. The one-time Seattle Seahawks player was released after a judge determined there wasn’t enough evidence to prove the altercation.
Police arrested Stevens early Monday after responding to reports of an 8-person fight at a house party at Solo’s home in Kirkland. Several intoxicated guests refused to cooperate with police. Officers found Stevens lying on the floor upstairs, between the wall and a bed. He “appeared to be hiding,” according to court documents, although Stevens claimed he was sleeping.
Officers noted blood on Stevens’ shirt and signs of a fight. He admitted to arguing with Solo, whose elbow was injured, according to the documents.
Stevens was arrested for fourth-degree domestic assault but not charged.
Stevens and Solo had applied for a marriage license just days earlier, after two months of dating.
Solo’s 34-year-old brother, Marcus, reportedly called 911 from the party. He told police two or three unknown men had started a fight and that he had used a stun gun on one of them, who left before police arrived, according to court documents.
Solo wasn’t cooperative with police, reportedly telling her brother, “Don’t tell them anything,” according to Seattle PI.
Two party guests were treated at a local hospital for non-serious injuries.
Stevens’ NFL career ended after a string of run-ins with the police, most recently a 2010 arrest for possession of marijuana, which got him booted from Tampa Bay.

Update: The judge hearing the case in Seattle said there is no probable cause that Stevens assaulted Solo. That was according to Chris Daniels, a reporter from KING TV who was tweeting the hearing as it happened.
