Henry Hill -- the former mobster whose life story became the basis for the movie "Goodfellas" -- died today at the age of 69 ... We spoke with Hill's girlfriend Lisa ... who told us Hill passed away in an L.A. hospital Tuesday after a long battle with an undisclosed illness. Lisa tells us, "He had been sick for a long time ... his heart gave out."We're told Hill had focused on mending relationships with estranged family members in recent years ... and Lisa tells us he had made tremendous progress before he died. Hill leaves behind two children. Hill was famously portrayed by Ray Liotta in the 1990 classic "Goodfellas."Hill's exploits in the mob world were legendary -- but he prided himself on reforming later in life ... and became a frequent guest on the Howard Stern show

R.I.P...
Inspired one of the greatest movies of all time.

He was about that life though

Dude has been out and about for some time now, if he was hit, it took them quite a long time to do the job

RIP

I've watched Goodfellas a ridiculous amount of times.

he was supposed to be on coasttocoast a.m in a episode of mobsters but couldn't make it due to an illness.

For those who don't know, Goodfellas was based on the book Wiseguy by Nicholas Pileggi, which is basically the movie word for word plus extra material.

I'm not a fan of the whole gangster/mob thing but I'll gladly say Rest In Peace to dude for inspiring the greatest movie I've ever seen.

And I'm still shocked dude never got toe tagged.

I think all his enemies died in like 94 for so he had nothing to worry about

I mean damn some NT'ers are hella cheap on here. The blu-ray goes for $13 and the DVD is $7 on amazon right now and has been at that price for awhile

But hey there are some NT'ers who rather be cheap and just watch an edited TV version with commerical breaks

I just watched Goodfellas this past weekend and it's one of my favorite movies of all time. I must have seen it over 100 times and have owned it on VHS, DVD, and now blu-ray. Yeah that how much I love this movie and Scorsese work

Also I think the Mob in real life didn't get to him because a lot of the key mob members he ratted out (Pauley & Jimmy "The Gent" Conway) all died in jail years before while Henry Hill was in the witness protection program.

i might be the only person that prefers Casino over Goodfellas...both are masterpieces though...
but yeah, RIP to him and Ray Liotta's career

i own a copy of goodfellas on blu-ray.

i just simply said because when someone dies and they were portrayed in a film or starred in a tv show, that show/film gets tv time.

You're not the only one. I think Casino is better, and I also think Goodfellas is highly overrated. Mob movies in general just aren't interesting to me, but Casino was great.

i watched his story on Locked Up Abroad was interesting.

i have Goodfellas movie but haven't watched it yet.
