Help with starting Lebron X custom.

Hey,guys,
I finally got my pair of X's and Im looking forward to start customizing. I was looking for info on what products should i use,but not much luck. The materialnis not leather,but rather mesh so can I use angelus leather paint on them.? Should I mix it with 2-thin.? any information would be very helpful for me to get the right start on this.
