External hard drive appreciation

stupid pos drive in my computer was acting up and i formatted it without thinking first,. Lost all my music & movies. Luckily i had the music backed up on the external so its not a complete lost.

I simply have a 80GB in a regular external HD enclosure. I guess people can recommend good external drives to purchase. The main point of this thread is just to remind everyone how important backing up is. Some things can never be replaced, like some of those movies i had

This is literally treasured after my first computer crash. I actually need some more, might try to take it to multiple terabyte territory.

Every time I imagine disaster scenarios I see myself heading out with my external hd in hand and I'd literally cry if it was destroyed or stolen.

Its beacuse the power supply, ppl leave them on all the time mostly. And because they can be bumped, fall of the desk, etc.

I just swapped my internal in my mac with a 1TB last yr

to my WD 1tb external I got last Black Friday for $60 from Target.

Let me get this straight, portables don't need an external power supply? If so, I might want a 1tb portable drive.

which is makin my computer basically unusable...how do i use this NEW hard drive and make my comp usuable again? thanks for yall help. ( i cant even dl itunes cause i have no room...)

I don't have an external hd, but I have a spare 1 TB HD that I use, when I reformatted my hd it def came in handy, they are appreciated
