Engraving Pen

Anyone think an engraving pen would do good for writing/drawing on shoe leather? Because recently came into my posession, and i'm wondering if it woulddo the same thing (sorta) as a woodburning pen....anyone got any ideas

it wouldn't really engrave leather... but rather scratch *#!% into it... you can give it a try if ya want, but i doubt it'll do anything
