sixers fans, I haven't seen him play yet this year but can you give some insight on why he's a bum now?

He's only 30, and he wasn't that good to begin with? 6 20+ ppg averages, pretty much had 6 20/10/2 seasons.

He's not as good as he used to be, but he's playing better this year.

Yeah, given the way things are going with Brand, I think most of us Clipper fans are pretty happy about basically swapping Elton and one horrible season forBlake Griffin.

When you have injuire constantly like he has, 30 is old. Look at Jermaine O'Neal, he declined even before 30.

And yea Elton Brand has always been a 20 and 10 guy, but undersized PF are like shoot first PG's you aren't going to win with them long term really.Elton Brand has played on a team with a winning record once in his career. Is that completely his fault? No, but it is a sure signal that he isn't a guythat your team will suck if he is your best player.

Jermaine O'Neal also came into the NBA as a 17 year old...

There's only one man to blame and that's Elton for going to Philly...both are a terrible fit for each other. He should have stayed on the WC.

and that's a bit unfair to blame Brand for the Bulls/Clippers struggles. He MORE than carried his weight.

I don't really understand the O'Neal argument...he sat on his %*% the first four years of his career, ain't no wear and tear was gettin put on hisbody. Brand is a 2x time all-star, I don't remember any point when he was dominating his team. It wasn't like those Clippers squad didn't havetalent either. Is he on the wrong team? Yes, but that doesn't excuse the fact that he isn't a very good player anymore. Elton Brand had a run as a top5 PF in the league for a while but he is a second banana, who was always masqueraded as a first.

Go get emotional over an entourage episode. Men are talking.

You're lame doggie and Entourage is just one of many topics where you talk out of your %*%.

Not really, the show has has turned into a male version of Sex in the City....keep living your life vicariously through Vince if that makes youfeel better about your pathetic existence. Have I said some stupid things? Yea, which sports fan hasn't.

Not, really the fact that Elton Brand has had one winning season in his career kind of makes my point. Elite players can fit in on teams no matter what stylethey play for the most part.

I think since he's not the focal point of their offense he's kind of lost out there. I don't think he has the same confidence that he had when hewas with the Clippers... His mid-range game was on point.

He's been a huge failure so far..maybe with the addition of Iverson, he can up his play to what is expected of him.

This. Brand's betrayal hurt 3 franchises: 1) Sixers on the hook for his bad contract and bad fit, 2) Clips stuck with a bummed-out, lazy BDiddy and 3) GS overreacting and "stealing" Maggette from the Clips

LOL

i think he needs veterans around him to succeed/feel confident...there's way too many young guys on that philly team now that they let go of andre miller, reggie evans, ollie and theo ratliff. also thaddeus young is way better as a power forward than a small forward, but they have speights who's like a moreexplosive, better outside shooting young elton brand.

add on to the fact that iguodala and most of the rest of the team are more of athletes than actual basketball players and then there is no playmaker to set upbrand correctly.

when this team gets healthy the starting five should be

jrue
iverson
iguodala
brand
speights

Hold up here. Jermaine O'Neal first 4 years in the league he has on a Blazer team that was deep with veteran talent. If I remember correctlytowards the end of his contract in Indiana he suffered a knee injury that required micro fracture surgery like Amatie, KMart, and CWebb. Unfortunately for himhe hasn't still fully recovered from that knee surgery and is bascially declining just like CWebb did towards the end of his career.
