I think wnba vs. Nba is a bad example of inequality in sports. The wnba doesn't generate nearly enough revenue to give her lebron money.
The Olympics and college athletics are better examples.
Within the Olympics and ncaa, there are women's teams that are more successful and even better known for endorsement purposes than their male counterparts eg. Soccer and still get paid less.

at an individual level I guess we can all support the wnba by watching their games and buying merchandise. The NBA execs and its players have the real power to promote the wnba.

i'm not sure if the problem is the lack of promotion or if an increased promotion of the league would fix this

any type of promotion helps. The nba has been heavily promoting their g-league something no one used to pay attention to. Im not saying their sponsorship will completely level the playing field but it helps. It's obviously not gonna happen overnight.

sure but i highly doubt the increased benefits from the promotions would offset the increased costs of said promotion

That's why I brought up the players, it would be charity work which may pay dividends in the future. I mean the g-league doesn't bring in that much money but still gets promoted. These things don't happen overnight.
Promoting women's sports should start in grade school and high schools with equal access to quality equipment etc which this country historically has dropped the ball on. These disparities aren't simply explained by people not being interested in women's sports and I think female soccer is a great example. I watch the women's soccer team during the World Cup and olympics and could give 2 sh3$s about men's soccer..

The NCAA men and women and their accommodations is one thing, you wanting NBA player money is another.

Eh, the WNBA just isn't that fun to watch when the NBA exist. The same goes for basketball overseas. I can watch women's wrestling, track & field, gymnastics, etc all day b/c often there isn't that much of difference in the aesthetics of their performances. Like at this years Wrestlemania I'm forward to Sasha & Bianca just much as I'm looking to Edge, Roman, & DB. However, made this is out their mind comparing Sue Bird to LeBron James
Dude is arguably the most famous person in the world. Snoop, Michael Jordan, Lebron, a few others. Those dudes are just famous as hell.

I think with time things will change BUT it’s up to the females to do their part and support.. don’t be tryna force men into watching. Now if they make it drama induced like WWF I can see potential.

Nothing to do with promotion, everything to do with the product.
If she could do what Bron does, (not putting the ball in the hoop or teammates hand, but the style and flare in which its done ), the WNBA wouldnt be struggling.
Or in the least, compelling storylines would help.

I never said force this on anyone, there are many NBA players who actively support the WNBA and women's sports like Lebron and Kyrie, and Kobe before he died. All I'm saying is they have influence and can inspire other male pro players to follow suit.

The point is why can't a female BBALL player be just as famous? In other sports eg. Tennis you can argue in this country the most famous players are women like Serena, who is arguably the most dominant athlete of any gender.

She still makes more than the average person. This comparison is nonsense. One product brings in tons more revenue while the other, not so much. Which is why one set gets paid much more than the other. If it weren't for NT, I wouldn't even know who Sue Bird is.

She isn't the "average person". It's OK if female athletes aren't ok with settling with being second fiddle to male ones. If everyone took this complacent approach black people would still be playing in the negro leagues for pennies. Nothing is stagnant in issue of equal representation. I literally care more about the women's final four right now than the men's.
