Do you rep your small town or the big city that's the closest?

i live about 15 mins south of atlanta but i prefer to rep the small country town i live in.

these fools around here rep atl and they don't live nowhere near the city.

I stay true to my city but I am starting to notice that whenever i am outside of NC and meet someone from NC, they automatically mention that they are from Charlotte when they are not. For instance, Concord NC is about 15 minutes north but they still claim Charlotte. Same goes for Fayetteville and Raleigh.

it depends. if Im talking to somebody from the general area thatll recognize my small town, Ill say it. But rather than explain at length where Lansdowne is in reference to Philadelphia to an out of stater, Ill just say Philly.

I do find it funny how people get upset when you say youre from somewhere close to a big city, but not actually from it

Yea I live outside Camden, but I live in lindenwold...for those who don't kno my town I just say south jersey Camden or close to Philly

No joke, folks from Boston are SO guilty of this....

Q: Where u from?

A: Boston

Q: Where u REALLY from?

A: Lynn

Depends on if the person I'm talking to knows the region. I don't live in Baltimore, but I was born and raised there, so I'll usually say I'm from Baltimore or Maryland if the person doesn't know the area well.

See I dont get upset as much as I feel like why not rep your small town. Now i will say that I get upset when they try and reference a neighboring town and use it to gain credibility. Like you live on the neighboring city to Compton, CA but tell everyone your from Compton.

Small town. Da womenz be mirin da fact that I'm from da country but I look, dress, and talk like a big city northerner :smokin

I'm from Decatur, but I say Atlanta if I'm introducing myself to someone not from the area. If they ask what part then I'll say exactly where.

Technically, Decatur is in the Metro ATLANTA area

Like someone else said if whoever I'm talking to knows the area I tell them my city, if not I just say the Bay Area.

that's cool because like you said decatur falls under the metro atl umbrella..

i'm mostly referring to these peachtree city type dudes claiming atlanta..

I rep seattle but im from bellevue. pretty much everyone from around here does that.

:lol Cats really used to go to war behind this type of **** when i was younger. Cats claiming they was from Houston, when they really resided in MoCity, Sugarland, Katy etc...

I thought dudes went more to war If you were from the north vs south doe? And when the hell did alief become hood, lol, but I rep that **** doe, Elsik 99

Like most it depends on where I am, but I live in and am originally from two small central cities. When I'm in Lansing, MI (where I live now) I tell people I'm originally from Flint. In other areas, I say I live in Lansing. When I'm out of state, I might say "I'm from Flint, which is about an hour north of Detroit".

:lol I feel you. I (and quite a few other people) consider MoCity part of Houston though, cause, well...it ain't no where from it. It blends in more than anything. Katy and Sugarland are entirely different though. Pearland is even debatable.

Now when somebody says something "Oh I'm from Almeda Texas", I just hit'em with the Cam'ron stoneface like "Shut up, you from Houston, quit trying to be different" ;lol

I live 2 blocks down from San Francisco...(Daly City) But I've lived in SF, always gone to school in SF, so...I do "rep", SF.

SF :hat

If I'm talking to locals then I'll say I'm from Richmond, but for other people I'll just say Vancouver.

I spent a couple years living an hour outside of Boston and there were people out there acting like they're from Boston.

Personally, I grew up 5+ hours away from any city with a population greater than 100,000, so I basically don't "rep."  I suppose I could try, but no one would know where the hell I was even talking about.
