DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - The Penguin out 9/19 then every Sunday on MAX

Djimon Hounsou, David Oyelowo, Idris Elba, and my out of left field suggestion I just thought of is the dude who was the president on 24 and does those All-State commercials. He's got the voice and demeanor.

Wasn't a fan of what they did with Hounsou at all. He was a generic grunt/buffoon. They had him acting goofy as hell.

What about Mahershala Ali for Black Manta? currently he's set to play the villain in Luke Cage.

Or, I'd even go with Nate Parker

Whoever they choose I hope the actor can be as calculating and menacing as Black Manta is.

Marvel probably already put the feeler out to Nate Parker after that Birth of a Nation hype

I actually think he'd do well as Jon Stewart too

James Wan [emoji]10004[/emoji] @creepypuppet

Peeps, I referenced Wolverine for the loner/outsider aspect. That is all. Don't freak out over headlines. Now, as for Black Manta...

James Wan's Plan For Tackling Underwater Speech In AQUAMAN

Below, we have an interview from IGN with Wan where the director explains how he plans to tackle underwater communication in the film.

"Yeah, speech bubbles, right?! Maybe it'll be speech bubbles. [Laughs] I never thought about that... Words come out of the bubbles. It's brilliant! That's a cool visual."

"It would be very literal, yeah! No, here's the thing I always say, if you have water in your lungs, like these characters do, there's no air bubble. So I don't know... I just think in my movie, I want to kind of create... I love the idea of underwater speaking but with a real sort of sonic, aquatic quality to it. So there's this sort of aquatic, almost sonar/whale thing. Even though it's in a human language, there’s this slight sort of underlay to it, this ping to it, which I think would be interesting for us to design from a sound design perspective. Yeah, it will be fun. Also, Zack has some ideas that he'll be doing in Justice League."

"Listen, I'll be honest, in some ways, JL will be an experiment for me to see what works and what may not work as well. And then kind of go, okay... Here’s the great thing, with all these superhero movies, you watch from one movie to another, and they always sort of slightly change things along the way. You kind of have to do that to make what's best for your film."

So it's up to Snyder's first portrayal of Momoa-man in JL.

This is make or break for Han. I like his track record, but this is the film that will "test" his mettle (e.g. FF was already established, Conjuring films were his babies).

Djimon's character didn't die in GOTG, right?

i thought he did?

its crazy how marvel signs everyone

they even had adebisi i think for a thor movie until they killed him off

dc gon be left to choose between denzel and the guy from the allstate commercials lol

Naw, success of failure Wan will be just fine. He has his movies to fall back on and he has a good track record with doing franchises.

BOX OFFICE: SUICIDE SQUAD Shows No Signs Of Slowing Down; Now Sits At $326M+ Globally

In Brazil, Suicide Squad has passed the entire run of Guardians of the Galaxy after only six days in release there, scooping up $14.9M. With its top offshore market so far being the U.K. with $19.7M, the supervillain pic also pushed over Guardians’ entire gross run in South Korea with $12.1M after only one week in release.

That country has a holiday next weekend with the celebration of its Independence Day on August 15, which might help moviegoing in the territory.

Its No. 2 offshore market is Russia ($14.2M), followed by Mexico ($13.2M), and Australia ($12.3M).

Suicide Squad now sits at around $326.1 million globally, is expected to rake in between $51M-$54M in the US this coming weekend, and will most likely have a very strong showing overseas, too.

So do people still want to boycott and shutdown rotten tomatoes? Their collection of reviews hasn't stopped ss from gettig money.

Hope if that underwater talking doesn't come out good it doesn't still make the movie.

Sounds interesting but doesn't sound good they want to test it out in JL to see if it works.

The studio will probably want someone who's proven/credible.

Laurence Fishburne?

He's already Perry White.
Plot twist

Perry White = Black Manta!

On the real it's pretty bad the lack of black male actors y'all can come up with right now :lol 2 guys getting named for every dann role of the very few black characters they got.

Jamie Foxx would be cool though, if he's willing to play a villain again, opposite Momoa.
marvel is always wasting their villains.
And some time great actors.

These ppl who really care want good reviews as well as box office success.

If the movie was praised but only made 20 mil this would be a very different thread :lol

Denzel should just do it and then MBJ be Aqualad after Marvel kills his character off.

im not sure why people harp on how much money a movie makes.

why would that matter how much money the movie made?

Sequel potential. Just like Sony took a loss in the range of 70 million for Ghostbusters. So there wont be a sequel for that movie.
