CUSTOM RARE AIR JORDAN 1 BRED

So got tired of looking for OG bred 1's and dealing with all these inflated prices and fakes, so decided 2 make 1.  

This is my first custom I have ever attempted, didn't want to do it with the lasers because I just don't like the way it looks, and really not feeling those 1.5 hybrids and these Rare airs where just going to be beaters, I only paid 75 for them so decided this will be my first canvas.

It's not done because I ran out of paint  so still needs another coat or 2. Was also thinking about blacking out all the white more of a dirty bred look.

Yes I know they are not OG and don't say nike on it blah blah blah I don't really care though. Just at home bored with nothing 2 do lol.

 

So dyed soles red and added another coat of red, also painted the tongue  black

thanks!, going to add a matte finish to the red once it comes in.

i thought about doing this. what did you use to dye the sole? how well does it hold up after dying it?

I used the Angelus MAHOGANY LEATHER DYE, Its close 2 the other red just seems 2 be a little darker maybe.

So far I wore them today and still looks good, but then again i was mostly in the car on carpet and just a little bit on smooth concrete.

interested in doing this. can you give me more information on how you did the outsoles? im hearing that just painting them results in cracking?

I followed the video link below its the same concept just did on on the whole bottom.

 

so far i have no cracks still looks good, maybe just from heel drag that came off and you can see a little white, to me its just the bottom so it doesn't really bother me.
