My situation: -Accepted to Morehouse w/ a scholarship that covers 1/2 of tuition -Accepted to LSU (Only applied b/c it was free and I didn't have to writean essay).. They gave a good scholarship too -Accepted to St. John's University up in NY (same situation as what happened with LSU; scholarship too)-Accepted to GaState -Waiting for results from the University of Florida -GaTech basically told me they accepted so many students that I was ruled out but wasgiven acceptance to the campus in Savannah <--- Not planning on going to Savannah though -Confident i'll be accepted to GaSouthern and CAU when I getthose results back --> I would do that engineering program that would transfer me to GaTech after 2 years if I went to Southern ...Any further insight aboutthese colleges and ideas about what I should do. I'm looking for any advice

Go to THE University of Florida if you get in.

If you're doing engineering..transferring to Georgia Tech would be the best option to me. I got into Georgia Tech, and the 4 major Florida universities..Iwanted to do engineering but the out of state tuition is too much for me. I decided to go to UF for Summer B.

if you get a full ride. I would go to LSU or to ST. Johns. Full rides are awesome. If you arent getting a full ride. State in-state, but go to a majoruniversity. Morehouse is nice but they do not have a football team.

If u ain't gettin a full ride to St.johns don't go cuz its $40,000 a year, unless if ur rich

That GTREP stuff is no joke, 1st 2 years you get use to being a normal college cat with alot of work, then you get to G Tech and get straight molested by theworkload.

To be honest with you go to the school that will cost the least. which sounds like Morehouse. I say this because one I have a bachelors and a masters and Iwill tell you that College degrees right now mean nothing with out knowing the right people. The econmoy is terrible to get a stable full time salary payingjob. With that being said we are in a recession and money is a big thing right now so take the best offer and go with it. Factor in everything when you weighthe decision such as cost of moving, living situation, food etc. Seeing that you are in GA its best to stay to receive Hope scholarship. It helps out ALOT.Added with scholarships you will be good to go. I would try not to take student loans if possible, but network as much as possible while you are there it willhelp out in the long team.

If your thinking of school for fun then don't waste your time. College will have its time of fun, but stay focused if you want to be sucessful in thiseconomic crisis. You should hopefully be coming out into a bigger market, but who knows what it will be like. A bigger school is fun with all the things to do,but its harder to build a strong connection with people. I picked a smaller school only because I wanted to know people as I walked the campus and I liked thesmaller classes. I went to Valdosta State University and ended up with a 3.8 in undergrad and 4.0 in masters. If very fun yes, I had tons of time to dointramural every year all-year round. Everything from Flag football, softball, volleyball, to soccer. I went to the bars, parties, frat houses. everything andI just had to learn how to manage my time. So go and have fun but remember that your future could heavily rely upon it.

But only AUC school I`d go to is Morehouse, CAU isn't worth it to me. GA State is alright but it is like GA Perimeter with Housing, it isnt a collegeexperience, but you are in the city so you can have something to do just by going outside.

GA Tech-Savannah I dont know much about, but I do go to Savannah State and Savannah is one of the most beautiful cities and historic in the Nation, itisn't Atlanta though, two diffrent types of cities.

GA Southern is aight but it aint my cup of tea.

go to the House. you can do the 3-2 engineering program that allows you to transfer (with all your credits) to tech and when you finish the 5 years, you willhave degrees from Morehouse and GaTech.

and shame on the dude who said we don't have a football team.....it isn't d1 but we have a team and they have been better in recent years then before.

Biased Morehouse Grad
Class of '98

If you are doing Engineering then find a way to go to Tech. If you have to transfer there then that should still be fine.
