SANFRANCISCO (CBS 5) â In a heist fit for Hollywood, a thief rappelledinto a San Francisco car dealership early Tuesday morning and made offwith a top-of-the-line sports car.
The swashbuckling crook apparently climbed over rooftops, hooked upa climbing rope and slipped in a window of the Bentley, Lamborghini,Lotus dealership. All that was left behind was a bag of mountaineeringgear.
The thief then made for a yellow and black 2008 LamborghiniGallardo, which just happens to be owned by celebrity chef Guy Fieri, who lives in Santa Rosa. After cutting the lock to the dealershipâsgarage door, the burglar disappeared into the night.
Car dealers said it may be difficult to sell the car with adistinctive bumblebee paint job. One speculated that the crook may tryto get the vehicle out of the country. That job may prove even morerisky than rappelling into the dealership
