Names like Detective Cedarspots or Colonel Mudsbottle are always fun. You know, like: Professor, Doctor, etc. + (two random nouns squashed together).

Why name things like turtles and lizards and fish anyways?

I'd name a dog, because dogs respond to us when we call them or yell at them. If you had a brown dog and a white dog, it would get annoying yelling'NO! White dog, you get down!! Brown dog, c'm'ere, bud; I got some biscuits for you.' So we name them.

But animals we don't interact with? Why name them?

Never got that.
