White privilege was the topic of the video, not class privilege.I don't like the term "White Privilege", I would say it's more like "Class Privilege".
Here's the thing though: do lower class white people have their own set of obstacles to overcome? Of course. Do black people of similar status have those same exact obstacles AND a ton of others that the whites of similar status don't have to deal with as much (if at all)? Absolutely.I don't like the term "White Privilege", I would say it's more like "Class Privilege".
Im co-signing this. Most "Upper Class" white ppl will treat a poor white person with as much disregard as they would a poor black person.I don't like the term "White Privilege", I would say it's more like "Class Privilege".

The cold part about Jim crow and segregation ending is that people think everything just got equal in 1963.
Every school got integrated, every parent stop telling their child black people were less, amd every neighborhood took their signs down.
The **** was 50 years ago... A majority of NTers parents are around that age.
It wasn't THAT long ago.

Seriously? You cant be serious about this. This is such BS and you know itMany upper class white people view most low income white people as people who have fallen on hard times, while poor black and Latino people are called lazy, dumb, etc
Exactly. People will argue that racism doesn't exist anymore but it wasn't like when Johnson signed the voting rights act in 1965 racism just up and vanished. If the Supreme Court legalizes same sex marriage alot of Americans are still not going to like homosexuals. Also why is it that racist always want to bring up that slavery ended hundreds of years ago? Do they know blacks were being lynched when our parents were kids.at bill O'Reilly growing up in a neighborhood that didn't allow blacks until 40 years ago

Yeah...that one's pushing it.Seriously? You cant be serious about this. This is such BS and you know itMany upper class white people view most low income white people as people who have fallen on hard times, while poor black and Latino people are called lazy, dumb, etc
Yes and many lower class white people view themselves as being the quintessential of what an American is or should inspire to be;A hard working patriotic white person who doesn't take from the man serves his country, obeys the laws and proudly waves the American flag. Many upper class white people view most low income white people as people who have fallen on hard times
Oh yeah and what sympathy do you want and from who?I can't give you something I don't receive;I say "I didn't get a job cause I'm black" or "The police stopped and frisked because I am black" and I get" that isn't true....suck it up,that happens to everyone.".poor whites get no sympathy
Never asked for sympathy. Just simply noted that the idea that rich whites are somehow apologetic when it comes to poor whites isn't true. It's something I've experienced firsthand.Quote:Oh yeah and what sympathy do you want and from who?I can't give you something I don't receive;I say "I didn't get a job cause I'm black" or "The police stopped and frisked because I am black" and I get" that isn't true....suck it up,that happens to everyone.".poor whites get no sympathy
A good majority of them also are the heir's of a certain way of thinking that if it was good enough for my great-great grandfather it's ok with me or you come across those that are bitter and mad at uncle sam so they talk about their rights to bare arms, take the law into their own hands, being invaded and fighting against communist...etc.
I would halfway listen if they talked about something that will benefit all, like jobs and stopping big business from heading overseas.
You know what I find funny. They always try to compare or downplay our struggle to justify the actions that kept us down. People try to bring up the irish, asians, the fact that africans were involved in the slave trade, there were black slaveowners, and much more. It's sad. It's like as time goes by, people are trying to undermind the **** that put us in the position that we're in.at bill O'Reilly growing up in a neighborhood that didn't allow blacks until 40 years ago
