Is this the wrong message to be sending to the masses?

It's probably only going to encourage those who support SOPA...

In response to today’s federal raid on the file sharing service Megaupload, hackers with the online collective Anonymous have broken the websites for the Department of Justice, Universal Music Group, RIAA and Motion Picture Association of America.
“It was in retaliation for Megaupload, as was the concurrent attack on Justice.org,

There's no point to this

Sometimes anonymous and others seem like government hired techs to help prove their point. Am I reaching?

The internet is a scary place yall. Yall knoiw these hakcers could shut down power grids in cities?

Who cares how some may view this though.. at the end of the day, there's no reasoning with the Government. They do what they want, when they want and don't ask for the American peoples opinion.

ON THE OTHER HAND...

As of late, I have the strangest feeling that this entire Anonymous thing is being funded by someone in the higher ups to start a fire and "mess it up for everyone" (if you will). Something doesn't seem right with the actions they take. Stuff like this and shutting down sites of Think Tanks could just be a reason for tighter restrictions on the net. Same person could be playing both sides.

Anon will be the 9/11 to SOPA's Patriot Act.

They need to chill.

its a ddos attack, not a breach of security or anything

think of it as a crash...example whenever a jordan release comes out, eastbay servers get hammered, that in essence is a ddos attack

not that big of a deal

Anon has been around for a long, long time. It is known that there are infiltrators, spies, and others not really on the side of anon within the group. That's why so many important operations are closed off to very few. Usually random occurrences that you see on TV and the web are not core members, but people claiming the same name. Anon is any and everyone. There have been former members who were caught and hired by feds. There are members locked up right now who have most likely given away names. Unavoidable. But real anon are on your side.

As stated, this isn't a serious attack. There was no breach that is known of publicly right now.

Following Sabu would be the best action for anyone who doesn't keep up with these things.

love the internet. This is big.

I don't get why Meth locked the other thread, really stupid. It's a discussion about ongoing battles of the biggest names in file sharing, and the likes. Has zero to do with supporting online piracy, the site was shut down and there is a discussion about it.

You were making it seem as if they're stealing top secret, or any information for that matter from the websites. It's just a denial of service. Not a hack job.
