Found a pair of super old Nike Zoom Airs. I'm sure they're 25+ years old. There was a
re-release in 2018 (maybe?) but I know these are not from that era. Any ideas??

Definitely Zoom Jet Turf, but without seeing the tag, hard to know what era it's from.

Hopefully this helps.

Man, that tag is really throwing me. It's an OG era tag, but the place where the year would normally be printed, it's not there lol. I'm betting original PE from the 99 era. Maybe someone with more knowledge of PE tags can correct me.

Same here…. Couldn’t really figure out what year they were made. On that tag, the numbers indicated under the barcode is supposed to be the production year/month/date or something like that normally, but it only says “999998” which doesn’t really make sense….

That and from that era the first 2 digits at the top normally indicate production year, and they clearly weren't made in 1934.

OGs had a different style code. Color is different, but this is from an OG pair on eBay. Unless PEs or team issued joints have a completely different style code/number.

I think I may have found our answer. And yes, it does look like PE's had a different style code. Here's a tongue tag from a white/black Jordan XV PE and the box from the black/red XV. Completely different style codes, and the PE style code seems to be pretty close to that Jet Turf.

Would Nike be any help if I sent the shoe&tag picture to them.....or would that be useless? I appreciate you guys trying to figure
it out!

Yeah it just seemed odd that they jumbled up the numbers like that. But I guess that’s how they were able to differentiate. Learn something new every day.

Doubtful, unless you managed to get in touch with somebody on campus that actually cared. Probably better off hashing it out in here. It looks like we're headed in the right direction.

Color/state could make a lot of sense. Purchased in Ohio, so possible it's Ohio State with the color scheme. The
Nike swoosh on the tongue is stitched silver.

Google 'Nike 478010' and you'll find an old Ebay listing for a white/navy OG Air Zoom Jet Turf pair from '97. Pics don't work anymore but Google has some saved

Apparently this was style code 478010-141

I'm thinking the pair in OP could indeed be some kind of PE but more likely some kind of sample pair, hence the 9999999-ish which you'll often find on sample tags.

They had samples back then in a size 15? 👀

That's why I'm saying PE. The amount of Nike samples that exist outside of 9 or 13 is pretty much zero. Those that do exist are SP/PE pairs. I think 5oclock is on the right track asking where they originated.

Dunno, and yes I'm aware you're referring to sample pairs often come as a 9.

That's why I said 'some kind of' sample pair.
Not sure what it is, but at least it doesn't seem to be a regular release pair.
Yeah, I’m not beefin w/anyone, it was just an honest question, because I have no clue what Nike is doing most of the time.

Great info everyone, thanks! Could these be PE for Ohio State? They've never been worn......killing myself for getting rid
of the box when we moved several years ago.

Where did you get them from? Like literally. What state did they originate in? If you came across them in Ohio or the Columbus area, there's a pretty overwhelming chance they came out of the OSU locker room.

EDIT: JUST saw that post about Ohio. Yeah, I'd say there's a REAL good possibility that's where they're from. Slight possibility of UC depending on where in Ohio they came from. I'd think they'd need more black to be a UC TB, but they were also a Nike school at the time.

Got them from a Nike outlet about 45 minutes outside of OSU (Columbus). They were in a box at that time and one of the shoes
has the strings in it from me trying it on. (The only time a foot was in this shoe.......not too many people wear size 15s)

Washington Courthouse outlets? The outlet part muddies the waters a little bit. With that bit of info, I'd be reluctant to say with any certainty that they're OSU PE's. That said, I don't think there's any doubt these were NFL/NCAA PE's, aka TB/Team Banks. Just tough to say exactly what team they were made for.
