90s Culture Appreciation vol. Intro

I know we have a lot of 90s babies on here. Time to kick the truth to the NT youth word to the Shaolin gods. The 90s were the best, as far as music, style, culture, the women, and just the feel.

Sometimes I wish I was born even earlier than I was in the 80s ('86) so I could've spent more of my teenage years in the 90s.

Hip-Hop

Even women IMO......there was something sexy about women during that time.


Think maybe it was their style, their demeanor. Peep Aaliyah's style back then or even Lil Kim circa '96 in the "No Time" video, before she went all faux black barbie plastic fantastic on us.


Women nowadays like splenda, look nice but they ain't real.

Best era of Hip-Hop. MJ became the GOAT and Clinton was president. Best decade ever. I have amazing memories being in my late teens early 20's throughout the 90's. Oh yeah sneakers were WAY better then too.

Yes sir. I came to the U.S. in the 4th grade in 1994 and loved my childhood here.

-Going to the mall to check out the new kicks and toys.
-Loved all the wind breaker jackets Loved those thick clearance Eastbay mags
-TV shows: Married with Children, Boy Meets World, Hang Time, City Guys, Wayans Bros (Marlon always had dope outfits and kicks), etc.
-Those Rock N Jock events on MTV
-Actually writing notes to give to girls you like, and calling the house nervous as hell in case their parents pick up and/or listening on the other line
-Urbanwear: Karl Kani, Fubu, Ecko, etc. Shopping was easy because you would cop 2-3xl no matter what size you really wore
-Going to a music store on a weekly basis to see what new dropped and listen on the listening stations
-Goosebumps books

I had a talk with friends my age the other day about this. I don't think I would want to be growing up in this generation, man.

You said it...play outside. People were actually ON TIME too! Used to call the boys up to meet at the park and ball all summer long. It was a simpler time for sure.

I still remember when I first played the N64, that joint was way ahead of its time

I totally agree with everything you said.

I remember learning BASIC in elementary school and it was such an easy thing for me to grasp; along with building PCs running DOS with my dad. I couldn't imagine being a kid now and tinkering with computers/dev like I did, it was so much simpler back then but still very cool.

Also, calling girls from the land line and hoping you don't get their parents or vice versa. used to walk to the store and post up on the payphone calling the girlies.
