Just now seeing this but hell no. Unless they can guarantee it will take a max of 12 months. Took me 24 months to get my TS...but if you are in the DMV and this is your only opp to get a TS I say yes. Opens up much more doors and higher salaries in the area.
If you need clearances you should be applying to jobs that say "Must have the ability to obtain X clearance" . In the DMV area clearances are the most important and provide longterm job stability. If I didn't have em that would be my top priority. Me not having my TS/SCI is limiting options(have...

Just started a new position in Taiwan, planning to study for the CISSP and CASP while I am out here so I can transition into a cyber role once I return to the states next year.
Hopefully will have both certs done by August.
Yeah as a contractor you really gotta watch your back and know how to maneuver. My own lead was trying to get me fired, made it through that bs though.
Because of location. All of the government agencies headquarters are in the DMV area and the work can't be done elsewhere.
