The metallic 5's were the first Jordans I had ever seen and also the pair my parents refused to buy me in High School back in '90 because I had just gotten a pair of all black Flight '90's. Now those things were HEAVY. Loving that crinkle nylon jacket, I remember seeing that at Foot Locker...
Every time someone says "TTS" I go 1/2 size up. People don't seem to realize your true size is as measured with a shoe sizer. If you think Nike/JB sizes match a shoe sizer you're smoking crack. In the 10-12 range anyway.
That toebox looks really close to the Flight Light's that also released that same year. Sadly, I went with the Flight Light's instead of the VI's as a kid.
They fit and feel exactly the same as the playoff 8's. The quality is also exactly the same. Again, the only thing remastered is the price.
The Bugs' 8's are definitely stiffer than these.
These really needed black netting to set them apart from the metallics. Honestly though, who wouldn't prefer the '90 Nike Air treatment on some metallics with legit nubuck.
Amen. I prefer the older short cut nubuck with the grey trim as well. The thicker, stiffer collar on the 2011 release is also less comfortable than the 2007 mold. I know, picky.
For those not wanting to buy both these and the fire reds (black tongue) I can't imagine JB not releasing both this year. With the metallics out of the way that leaves only 3 og cw's to release in '13. I'd bet on a black friday release for the other fire reds.
I totally agree here. Lets face it, us older guys aren't really propelling JB forward. It's the younguns and the hype that's putting $ in their pockets.
I've been counting on this as well. The GMP's ended up going to people throughout the day because their raffle system has some kinks, and people who won the raffle didn't show up.
