Me saying all players SHOULD try and get the most they can doesn’t mean that they’re always going to get it, or that a smart front office will just blindly hand it out. I’ve already mentioned that I don’t think Reaves is going to get the max. Lol I’ve also mentioned that a “hope” strategy...

As a Lakers fan I’m not okay with any other team winning the title… that’s my emotional reaction to that question. My logical assessment is separate of emotion. This roster isn’t good enough to win it all, they have limited resources to make improvements therefore it’s difficult for me to see...

Agree w/ both points. My realistic expectation for the Luka era is that the team will be “good enough” because he’s that talented and just maybe the Lakers could get some lucky breaks like injuries to another contender that could open up a pathway to a title. And I’m okay with that.

Lakers have two years to figure this out before Luka opts out and looks for greener pastures. IMO whatever Reaves ends up getting…$35-40 mil doesn’t really change the reality of the situation

Hmmmm….. Free agency isn’t the only part of team building… there’s also the draft, trades, minimum/mid-leveling signings, also coaching (if that even matters). I’m not campaigning for Reaves to get the max or any other specific contract for that matter… same w/ LeBron. I think they should...

Brunson extended his contract when he had the chance, which meant avoiding the uncertainty of heading into a contract year. Hard to fault him for that… not everyone is willing to bet on themselves. He already took that gamble once in Dallas and it paid off, but doing it again in New York...

I don’t disagree that Luka COULD win with this roster… sure it’s POSSIBLE , they’d still have all the pieces. Maybe they win because of the overall talent or maybe they don’t because it’s not quite the same experience. But, I disagree that proves he’s the same as Brunson from a team-building...

The Knicks being two wins away from a title tells me this roster works as it’s currently built around Brunson. If Luka needs different pieces around him to get the most out of him… like a lob-threat center instead of KAT then I don’t really see how they’re the same from a team-building...

I think Luka is capable of playing a more ball movement oriented style… almost all players are. But, I just don’t think that’s the style he prefers and realistically no team is going to ask him to significantly change the way he plays… at least at this point in his career.

You don’t think Luka would have any problems fitting into an offensive system with this much ball movement?
