Q: I really cannot tell whether the traction pattern is translucent or not?
A: The rubber on the outsole is translucent. In wear testing there were no major issues with traction on this version, as opposed to the previous traction pattern.
JT is on point with the And1 Hooplife/Performance product comments. And1 realizes that it doesn't have the long histories that other brands have to pull from, so its not trying to do so.
Hooplife is about providing off court product with hoop influences...its their way of delivering product...

You make excellent points.
I do think that for the last few years the basketball market has been very boring; with VERY few exceptions. Big players release so-so product and rely on their logos and advertising to cover that up. It wasn't always like this...and it doesn't have to be...
Wow JT..."statement level"...we both know from experience that And1 won't unfortunately make much of a statement. They will just release the shoe and that will be that...maybe an add in the usual pages of SLAM. No bitterness there (in all honesty), just saying. Anyway, thanks for the...
Not at all TWB...its a good pic, and represents what the traction most likely will be. I look forward to hearing what you have to say about the shoe and how it performs.

Here are some pics of an upcoming AND1 shoe... the Onslaught.
The shoe was engineered as a lightweight guard shoe, featuring a full length support plate with traction pods, anatomical flex zones and a visco-elastomer in the heel for low to the ground responsive cushioning. The shoe is actually...
A very minor correction on JT's post... Weighing the Vapor that is closer to the production sample produces a result of 12.1 ounces...not that great of a difference, but lighter just the same.
THE SHOE GOD HAS SPOKEN
So I have to ask....what exactly do you think flexibility looks like? Does it have to be obvious grooves through the rubber and midsole, should there be distinct segments like the Nike Free, or would you like a big advertisement with some half-as*ed logo on the side of a NASCAR ride to call it...
3Stripes....
I am going with TWhiteB on this due to the fact that JT and I were looking at the pics of the Vapor at work and even he thought that the rendering of the zoom quickening was the one that people were talking about. If you are in doubt, take a look at @#%$.com under the "focus...
I have indeed worn the shoe....it is rediculously light, and very supportive...fits like a glove. Looks are deceiving...it may look like there is not a lot of support because the upper is so minimal...but the shoe fits so well that you don't need any extra padding for support. With the upper...
Not sure what SLAM was thinking on using spiders in the pics...and why were some of the shoes dirty looking?...I don't think of a situation where I would want to show off dirty shoes...
Just a couple of responses to the comments made regarding the Edge specifically...
I wouldn't suggest using this shoe for outdoor ball....that is what the Open Run is for, as well as the Asphault (not seen on this post). The Edge is a very minimal, lightweight shoe. The Edge actually comes in...
