I'm only 22, but it's changed for me. I realized I spent $6,000 from 2005-2007 ,on shoes, all through high school.
I could have put a down payment on a decent car, paid off school, & still have money left over to blow/save.
Grown men out here 25+ years old camping with 16 year old's for shoes...
It is a game & it's corny & dead. It was cool for everybody back in high school - breaking necks, coming to school in a new pair every week. All fun & games, but it's dead now. I'm 22 & it was cool when I was 16-18. Working at Finishline also killed it for me, too.
It's dead.
Last pair of shoes I bought were Playoff VIII's (worked @ Finishline).
Sold them in March of '08 for $65 & never bought another pair of shoes.
It's all hype & see who can get the most.
I had 30+ pairs at one point, but I've sold/given away a lot of stuff.
The game is dead & too...
Haven't bought a new pair since Playoff VIII's in 2007 - 5 years ago.
Sold them 4-5 months later for $75 & was officially done w/ the "shoe game."
It's a waste of money trying to keep up with everything.
Selling everything, because the shoe thing is overrated.

Nope, I treat like like everybody else. They don't want to be feel left out or looked down upon.
I met this group of guys last week & started talking to them about their cars.
A bug got on one of the guys leg & I didn't notice that he had a fake leg. He said "Damn, if this bug bites my leg...
