absolutely. but it's still one of the greatest rap albums ever. it's so dense. some of pac's most overlooked lyrics are on the second half of that album.
everyone in asap plays their own respective role. please don't think that because one member is more visible than the other that he's to take all credit. rocky is a product of the minds of yams, sonically, and bari, aesthetically.

aside from 2008, this was my most important year yet imo. very tumultuous.
- fell deep in love at 19 years old, truly incredible feeling
- fell out of love, made a few rash decisions based on emotion that taught me more about myself than anything else
- moved to new york city/on my own at 20

the weakest song of the trilogy is "life of the party" and that's even a solid track.
once you play with the sequencing of these three mixtapes in a playlist, the genius really comes to life.
"what you need"/"thursday"/"outside"
"the morning"/"xo"/"the zone"/"the fall"

"i'm a star,

what kind of caps? got the brownest of em...
i'm not even worried about comparing the mixtapes. you should be enjoying the music for what it is at the moment. i can compare and contrast a little later.
if you play "the zone" before "the fall" and "lonely star" before "montreal"
DON'T GET IT TWISTED, GOT SOME TRAPPERS IN THE CAR
drake spent a lot of time studying kendrick and andre's cadences and flows for this album. i love how he has them both on the album, too.. sort of like an ode.
the flow of HYFR should bring anyone back to this right here:
i thought i was alone on "practice." i was waiting for the beat to drop and for drake to get on his 97 cash money flow for a minute, but it never happened.
i don't know what they were aiming for with that, it seems a little misdirected. i need to hear it in the strip club.
