Even multi-trillion GR's are hard to get thesedays. OG 1's are next to impossible.
I'd love this classic colourway, but fat chance that's going to happen. I might browse Reebok.com instead.
Sadly, I've never seen 1989 OG Fire Red's in the flesh, but from the pictures I've seen, it's never looked like the shade of fire red used on other models.
The liner looks closer to fire red, but the midsole, plastic and Nike Air looks like varsity red? Maybe gym red?
9:35AM Saturday morning here in Australia.... the shoe is nowhere to be seen on NDC or Footlocker.com.au... did it come and go?
I saw it in person last week at a local Foot Locker - the quality was nice. Similar to the (I think under-rated) Yin Yang 1's, with some panels being slightly tumbled...
I didn't get the 2013 release, but I love my 2006's. Unfortunately though the midsole paint is garbage and it has cracked severely. I've accepted it and wear them as a "vintage" look now, with the yellowed back-tab to match.
The quality of the materials on that release was good.
The AIR is centered to the swoosh, not the NIKE.
I prefer it centered to the NIKE as well, but it is what it is. It's not a mistake on this shoe - the very jumper I'm wearing is the same. Aesthetically, it looks correct when its not surrounded by a border.
It looks incorrect on the shoes...
Same with Foot Locker AU here in Australia.
They screwed me on the Infra VI release. I checked-out successfully and then 48 hours later get a cancellation email. I complained and got a 10% off coupon. I would put it towards Black-Cement IV's on Saturday, but I don't trust them.
17 pairs minimum...
... but if the stars on the outsole don't match up perfectly to the '99 retro (not the OG, as they those holy relics can only be found in temples), then I'm sending back to Nike with a stern letter of warning.
