the vi ae gives you better freedom of movemt, but i wouldn't say the vii are restrictive by any means. the biggest difference of the two would be the cushioning. i like the zoom met bag of vii, while i like the overall fit and lockdown of the vi ae.
i've played in mine twice, the dk powder blues, and i was not impressed with the fit. i just couldn't get good lockdown. it's funny how some pray the airbag won't pop while we here wouldn't mind it did.
