Don't think it matters. You could just tie the end of the pillowcase, sir. I've never had it come open. I wash the shoes separately from other clothes. I would be afraid of the other clothes/towels bleeding even if they've been washed a bunch. Ohhh and I'd make sure to use a white pillowcase...
