I prefer the VF for half mary and below. For the full, I go AF. I'm a 1:18/2:45 guy for context. For me, the AF feels so consistent through all the miles, where as I feel the VF starts to get a bit harsher towards the last 5k/10k of the marathon. AF feels the same at mile 1 as mile 26.
Yea, not sure what I was thinking with the "full zoomx" but I stand by everything else I wrote. The Invincible is a dog compared to the Peg Turbo. Nike needs a good non plated shoe in the lineup and the invincible ain't it. There needs to be a Peg Turbo 3.
There really isn't anything with equal cushioning but I really feel like the Invincible is overkill. My initial thought was to use them as easy day or longer (15+mile) days but they are heavy, bulky, and make me feel lethargic. I don't want my perceived effort to be higher, in order to carry...
Yea, in Tri, seconds matter and the AF are kinda a pain to put on quickly vs other options. He has raced like this for a bit now. Here are screen grabs from his last race, video while he was pissed, pacing around in the penalty tent... Lol
That is Vincent Luis, professional triathlete racing at Challenge Daytona late last year. It's the green/black cw and the pic has been edited.
See attached pic from the same race.
What did you really expect?
Zoomfly = Orange Box
Peg Turbo = Orange Box
The Tempo is basically just a trainer. I think this goes along with the negative reviews of the Tempo. People are expecting too much from it based on the price point.
For cornering in the AF, take quick shorter steps, increase cadence, and get up on your toes (think like you're climbing a steep hill where your heels never touch the ground). This has helped me maintain my pace while running around turns.
Took these out for their maiden voyage today and man, the EM upper on the NXT% midsole is just perfect! Took them through pacing from 7:15's down to 5:20's & they were amazing at every step. I need a few more pairs of these. I'm in love!
