Jewelers buy their gold at spot plus a small premium or at the price of a forward contract they previously negotiated. The market for gold is super efficient, nobody is getting a discount on it except maybe big dealer/wholesaler/specialist who charges a spread for providing liquidity.

It's the generic mold you see everywhere, might be a little bigger you see at most places cuz mine was 100 grams most of the ones i see told day are 80 grams. I had to sell it when I went to grad school.
