they should let you swap no problem, i don't see why they shouldn't honor it, they are good with things like this. In regards to the 1400 model, it is similar to the 1300 and plenty of people believe it runs 0.5 larger, did you post in the thread asking about the sizing or look at the sizing chart?

go for a 8.5 imo, curious that you are an 8.5 in the 990 and 1300 when people go down 0.5 from what I've seen

you can actually twist the back knob to extend it, at least I can with my pairs, maybe that can help.

in my opinion yes, I believe the front of the toebox makes it snug so I personally am a 10.5 but will go to 11 because of my wide foot
