imo, they're just another store opening up with an indie energy account.
i thought i saw folks from the bay area with their boxes saying sheikh's or something like a local store that you wouldn't believe would get them...blah, i don't really care THAT much. besides, someone got an 8.5 AM1 for me anyway, so no biggie.
Dromo1 also requires a DL too (i have a scar thanks to the real hot engine)...I haven't been to K1 Speed but I heard it's pretty cool...Go Cart World in Carson's for kids lol...Speedzone's the best compromise, not quite the real go karting, but not so cartoonish like GCW.
word about Burbank...it sucks when people I know that want to be picked up fly into LAX, when they could've flew into Burbank (for all the Southwest flights).
If you have ample time, then hang out at the In N Out up the street on Sepulveda where you can watch some planes land and take off (If early enough, I just go to TJ Maxx to see if they got some good gear), and wait for the phone call before you go curbside.
