Also, shell out $20 and buy a proper domain name for your site. Make it catchy and/or easy to remember. firstnamelastname.com is the best if you can swing it.

Dude. Get rid of that "Creative Engineer" junk. Personally, I hate industry jargon (i.e. Creative Ninja, Creative master, etc.) to make your title sound cooler than what it really is. If you're a designer, say that you're a designer and be proud of it.

Honestly, if there is a gap in work experience, it doesn't matter. Your portfolio does. For better experience, don't create a Google Drive. Set up an actual website.

First off, your resume looks professional, but it's boring. You're a designer not an accountant—utilize a grid, swiss design, illustration, iconography, something. If I was hiring a designer, I would pass up on your book. Not trying to be mean, but there's no life in your produced projects...

Squarespace. It's cheap and if you know a a bit of CSS, you can really have fun with the layouts. The only thing is there's no "free version" like there is with Cargo Collective. Still, it's not pricey; about $8/mo.

What do you do for a living?

For real. I hate that most people going into college nowadays are playing it safe. And the least safest thing is what they're passionate about. I met a freshman whose college plan was to become an accountant for the IRS. Really. I responded with, "when did you decide to grow up to be boring?"...

What do you do for a living?

Remember, if you major in something you love, you'll never work a day in your life—most likely because there's no job market for it.

I know this is an old article, but read up on this. There are plenty of people who will undercut you or ask you to work for free by telling you that they're doing you a favor by giving you an opportunity to put work in your portfolio or gain exposure because of them. Remember, you're a...

Check out the ADC Young Guns. Basically, the hot up and coming designers, illustrators, filmmakers, advertisers, etc., on the market. Also, with your work, don't just design a nice poster or a cool packaging, but show thought and concept behind the work. Say, if you were to make a poster...

Advertising copywriter. I think of ideas. I put them on paper. I sell the ideas to the client. I make a commercial. But, since I'm asian. I'm also a failure.
