To be honest, it does have the strong smell associated with toluene but I am not 100% sure that is active ingredient.  The smell goes away after a day or day two, however.  I like the fact that it's on for good, once applied.  On 100 degree day, you know your work is going to stay in place ;-) 

I just use Amazing Goop.  Cheap and have never had issues.

Have you done any custom work before?  If not, I would recommend watching some tutorials, before starting on these.  Patent leather can be tricky and there are different steps required for painting PL vs. regular leather.  Here is a great video that may help you out:

In the midst of completing a custom pair of 4's. Got inspiration from the bin 2's and adding a few twists. Going to be adding croc where the black panels are and back tab. I'll also be adding the wax seal and have made a custom wood pullout box for them. Should be done soon and will post...

Hey guys - I am doing an Asics GL V custom and was wondering how people typically dyed mesh and nylon.  I have only dyed suede before.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
