From What I understand Websites can release shoes early because they dont have a physical storefront (PYS or sneakerhead) Footlockers and most chain stores are bound to honor release dates set by Nike similar to the way Videogames or CD's are bound by a street date.

Interesting question. Maybe part of it is that the athletes in football/baseball just arent very charismatic or interesting and they wouldnt be using the product your purchasing on field.

Frijo to each his own. But to me they remind me of skate shoes before they got to techy. I think if this was a standard SB team shoe it would still sell to the majority of people who want them.
