I agree, the aesthetics are average at best. The Soldier 6s, in my opinion, are unappealing but I grabbed them for cheap and their court performance is comparable or better than models that are 2x the price. If the Solder 7s continue that execution, I'd say kudos to Nike.

depends on what performance you're looking for. I love my pair for working out: weights, plyometrics, and runs under 2 miles. I prefer shoes with more cushion in those workouts, but if you are looking for more of a "bare foot" feel like the Nike Free series, this might not be the right fit...
