most likely, he's just gonna be rockin' them casually (well, it is a lifestyle shoe)...so i would actually recommend against going for the size 7.5. it may run slightly too snug. better to go with a size 8 to ensure that he can wear them comfortably...that's my opinion at least...

i personally go with size 8.5 in grid 9000, and size 8 in shadow 5000/6000. so if your size 9 grid 9000 felt a little big, going down a .5 size in shadow 6000 should totally be doable (might actually feel like a perfect fit for you). good luck!
